The River Seine, Paris

During a week in Paris, I was subject to two kinds of weather; beautiful and raining. The beautiful days were the day I arrived, still punch drunk from jet lag, and the last day as I went through security screening. The rest of the time it was cold and raining.

During a brief respite from the rain, I was crossing the River Siene and spotted this early morning scene. There was a light mist that washed out the colors, but it still made for an interesting composition in black and white. A bit of a change in contrast and defogging took care of the mist in Lightroom producing this image. This has been describe as Something from World War II.
