Active Macro Photography

I must have sat in the bushes for two hours trying to get a usable photo of a bee on a jasmine flower in my backyard. I had just purchased a $900 dedicated Nikon Macro Lens and was Hell bent on learning the possibilities and the limitation that come with any addition to my equipment collection.

I had three standards that had to be met. 1. A good, or at least reasonable composition for the photo. 2. Image clarity, which it to say, in focus, and 3. Low noise. I like to shoot around 100 ISO, but that was not going to happen and I jumped up to 400 ISO to get the shutter speed to meet my standards in No. 2.

So I burned down the battery and filled a memory card to get this one shot. A bit of Lightroom and I can’t say it came out too shabby.
